John Jackson, Regional Sales Manager, Cognex UK

John is the Regional Sales Manager for North Europe at Cognex. He has been working extensively in the automation industry for the last 20 years and senior management roles for the last decade. He also found time to complete an MBA in 2013, at Loughborough University.

John is passionate about helping clients to deploy machine vision and deep learning inspection, which are often key pillars within digitalisation and Industry 4.0 strategies.

Damien Spall, Technical Sales and Group Marketing Manager, Routeco

Damian has a diverse engineering background and experience within the Manufacturing, Energy Management, Audience Measurement and Industrial Automation sectors, having initially studied Electronics & Communications at Suffolk College in Ipswich. Damian has a keen passion for Technology Innovation and UK Manufacturing and is an active member of the Sonepar International Communications Committee, where he represents the Routeco group who have multiple locations across Europe within the UK, Austria, Netherlands and Belgium.

Professor Sam Turner, CTO, HVM Catapult

Professor Sam Turner is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult. Sam works across the HVM Catapult Centres and stakeholders, including government, to develop manufacturing strategy for the UK. He is part of the Made Smarter strategy implementation group led by Juergen Maier and was part of the review team.

David Gibbs, Product Specialist – Drives & Networks, SMC UK Ltd

David is a product specialist at SMC, supporting customers with advanced automation solutions using fieldbus networks, wireless technology, electric actuators and industrial automation. He has a BEng (Hons) degree in Electronic Engineering and over 12 years’ experience in industrial automation.

Bernard Bagley, Head of Robot Sales (General Industry), KUKA UK & Israel

Bernard is responsible for the General Industry Sales Team in the UK and also Israel, having a strong background in the Tool Making and Plastics Industry. Bernard has been with KUKA Robotics (UK) Ltd since December 2015.

In the late 80s Bernard began his career in the Plastics Industry and subsequently went on to manage many production facilities in the UK and also in Mexico and Brazil. Bernard remained in the Plastics Industry until joining KUKA , with a long and varied experience of working in semi and fully automated production facilities.

Andy is known to many in the engineering and automation industry in the UK, and has edited many leading design and manufacturing titles over the past four decades. Andy is a graduate materials engineer and spent five years in engineering consultancy prior to joining the technical publishing industry in 1980. Andy was a founder and shareholder in the start-up e-publishing business Pro-Talk, which launched in 1999 and was bought as a thriving business by Centaur Publishing in 2006.
